The fire started at approximately 2:34 p.m. on Wednesday.

When fire crews arrived, the fire was already well established and spread quickly due to the high winds in the area.

As of Tuesday night, the fire has grown over 3,00 acres and is 0-10% contained, according to Spokane County District 3 Fire Chief Cody Rohrbach.

According to Rohrbach, two structures are confirmed to be total losses from the fire. A fire engine also caught fire but all firefighters inside were able to escape safely.

Fire boss planes and agencies from Spokane, Whitman and Lincoln counties also aided in the fire, according to Fire District 3.

The Washington Department of Natural Resources (DNR) sent multiple resources to aid in fighting the fire, including two tankers.
