ICC ODI rankings: Dhawan rise to 13th place, Shreyas Iyer to 54th spot

Shikhar Dhawan raised one spot to joint-13 in the most recent ICC ODI rankings on Wednesday as a result of his game-winning innings against the West Indies in the opening game of the ongoing limited-over series.

Left-handed hitter Dhawan scored 97 runs in the opening One-Day International against West Indies on Friday in Port of Spain.

The game was won by India by three runs. Shreyas Iyer, another Indian batter, climbed 20 spots to tie for 54th place among batters after scoring back-to-back half-centuries in the first two One Day Internationals against the West Indies.

In the first and second ODIs against West Indies, Iyer scored 54 and 63 runs, respectively.

Mohammad Siraj, a pacer, is now ranked 97th in the top 100. In the opening ODI against the West Indies, Siraj recorded 2/57.

Since they were both rested for the series against the West Indies, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have fallen one spot each to fifth and sixth, respectively.

Shai Hope, the West Indies’ opener, has moved up three spots to position 12 after scoring 115 in the second match against India, although it was in vain.

Meanwhile, speedster Alzarri Joseph has moved up two spots to position 16 after taking two wickets in each of the two matches against India.

Quinton de Kock of South Africa has moved up two spots to fourth after scoring 92 runs unbeaten against England in the third game that was rained out, tying the series at 1-1.David Willey, an England pacer, is now ranked 23rd among bowlers.

Abdullah Shafique, the Pakistan opener who was named man of the match for his second innings performance of 160 against Sri Lanka and who has 720 runs in his first six Tests, climbed 23 spots in the ICC Test rankings to move up to 16th place with a Pakistan record of 671 rating points.

Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, passed Australia’s Steve Smith to go up to a third place with a career-high rating of 874 points after scoring 119 and 55 against Sri Lanka.

The only hitter in the top 10 of all three categories, Babar is currently ranked first in ODIs and T20Is.
