BBC Breakfast was taken off air on Sunday morning after tech equipment collapsed on set.

The show had been due to begin at 6am, but was replaced by The Travel Show due to technical issues.

It returned at the later start of 7am, with Roger Johnson, 53, and Sima Kotecha, 42, hosting the programme.

While neither presenter referred to the incident during the show, they addressed the situation on Twitter.

While Sima also shared photos of the incident as crew urgently made repairs.

She tweeted: "Lovely to be back with @RogerJ_01 .. it’s been a while. And thanks to these lads for their last minute DIY after laptop collapse

It comes after viewers were left surprised yesterday after Charlie Stayt was replaced by Roger yesterday as he joined Naga Munchetty to host.

Charlie, 60, and Naga, 47, usually present the show together from Thursday to Saturday each week, with temporary presenters tending to fill up the couch on a Sunday.

However, Charlie was noticeably absent from the studio this morning as Roger filled his spot.
