Arsenal vs. Sevilla result: Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka inspire Gunners to 6-0 Sevilla Emirates Cup win

Arsenal rounded off their preseason campaign with a ruthless 6-0 Emirates Cup final win over La Liga giants Sevilla in North London.

The Gunners made it six wins from six preseason games in front of their home fans, with four goals inside the first 20 minutes, as Mikel Arteta's hosts ran riot.

Bukayo Saka's early penalty got the ball rolling, before two neat finishes from Gabriel Jesus, and a second for the England star made it 4-0 before the break.

The home side looked to pick up where they left off after the restart, as another poacher's finish from Jesus secured a hat trick for the Brazilian, and substitute Eddie Nketiah wrapped it up in the dying minutes.

Jesus has enjoyed a sensational start to life as an Arsenal player following his decision to swap Manchester for London this summer.

Seven goals in five preseason games demonstrate his readiness ahead of the 2022/23 campaign with a hat trick on his home debut underlining why the Gunners pushed to bring him to the Emirates Stadium.

Arteta has built an exciting attacking unit, with Saka, Martinelli and Emile Smith Rowe, but Jesus can add the ruthless experience needed to mount a Champions League push in the months ahead.

Despite not turning 21 until September, Saka's performances in the last 12 months have confirmed his status as a key player for Arteta, with a starting spot now guaranteed.

His ability to drive the team forward and score key goals to go with a developing maturity, all indicate he could be the difference maker for Arsenal this season.

Arsenal confirmed their decision to name Martin Odegaard as their new permanent club captain ahead of the Emirates Cup final kickoff in a major show of faith from Arteta.

Aubmeyang's exit opened a vacancy as skipper and the Norwegian has been selected to lead Arteta's young team in 2022/23.
